The TP-Link TL-FC311A-20 is a gigabit media converter that includes a gigabit RJ-45 connector as well as a gigabit SC fiber interface for converting electrical and optical communications. Furthermore, long-distance data transfer using optical fiber may be used in commercial applications such as park security monitoring and wireless networking. The TL-FC311A-20 uses WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) technology to deliver and receive data across distances of up to 20 km using only a single-mode fiber, saving clients half the cost of cable deployment. On optical fiber, the TL-FC311A-20 transmits data at 1550 nm and receives data at 1310 nm. As a result, the terminal device used in combination with the TL-FC311A-20 should send data at 1310 nm and receive data at 1550 nm.
