The Nikon NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens delivers exceptional clarity across the full zoom range. This lens was designed to meet the demanding demands of sports and wildlife photographers, and it covers a wide telephoto range, allowing you to take spectacular photographs and movies in a reasonably compact and lightweight package.
Optical Design
Six ED (extra-low dispersion) glass components boost light transmission while decreasing dispersion, completely eliminating chromatic aberrations and color fringing across the zoom range for exceptional clarity and color accuracy. At large apertures, a single aspherical glass element is used to reduce distortion and coma. The aspherical element of Nikon NIKKOR Z 180-600mm lens is also allows for a smaller and lighter lens, which is very important for super-telephoto zoom lenses.
Autofocus and Vibration Reduction
Stepping motor with STM for quick, precise, smooth, and quiet autofocus with less wobbling. This drive system also provides smooth and silent focusing performance, making it suitable for both stills and video applications. The A/M mode, which stands for Auto-Priority Manual Mode, allows for a smooth transition from autofocus to manual during AF operation. The Nikon NIKKOR Z 180-600mm internal focusing lens design maintains the lens the same size when zooming and autofocusing. This also enables a small form factor with tight focusing distances. The 180mm zoom position has a minimum focusing distance of 4.3′ and a maximum magnification of 0.25x for capturing close-up details and objects.
Handling and Design
This lens is ideal for locating your subject at its widest setting. With only a 70° turn of the zoom ring, you can go all the way up to 600mm for tight framing and excellent backdrop compression. The control ring and function buttons may be customized to give easy control locations for swiftly altering exposure settings and other functions. Lens barrel is weather-sealed and has a front fluorine coating for usage in bad weather. When shooting with a monopod or tripod, the rotating tripod collar provides mounting stability. The Nikon NIKKOR Z 180-600mm lens is compatible with Nikon Z-series teleconverters, allowing you to increase your effective focal length to 840mm with the 1.4x teleconverter and up to 1200mm with the 2x teleconverter.
